SUCH A HAPPY DAY FOR LUCY AT WYNYARD HALL

Lucy and Mike's aviation love story ended with their summer wedding at Wynyard Hall, but it began when pilot met air-crew on Thomas Cook Airlines.
They are nicest, sweetest people and I was thrilled that they enjoyed such a loved-up, chilled-out wedding at one of my favourite wedding venues in the north of England!
I travelled to their new home in Rothbury, Northumberland to meet with them over a year ago, and in their own words they were already convinced that I should be their wedding photographer after reading about other weddings and my reviews on this blog.
Luckily we immediately clicked, and so the deal was done!
Neither of them are comfortable in front of a camera, so allowing me to capture their wedding as naturally as possible, but keeping Mums and Dads happy, was fine by me, and I'm sure you will agree how happy and relaxed they look throughout the day at historical Wynyard Hall.
Trust and confidence are high on my list of priorities, so it was nice to meet up with the happy couple 6 weeks or so before the wedding to catch up - and we also popped in to see Lucy's parents in Durham to chat about the day and share some tea and cake ... so all was set.
When I arrived at Wynyard Hall, another Lucy (from La Belle Vous) and her colleague Natasha were busy with the hair and make-up for Lucy and her bridesmaids .. .all was serene and calm, Lucy particularly impressed with herself!
Serene and calm and relaxed was to be the order of the day. Adam Prest, the amazing florist turned up about the same time as me with some fantastic creations. Everyone of my brides who use Adam just tell him to 'do his stuff' and he does, very off-piste and left field to some brides I'm sure, but I totally dig his unorthodox creations - star!
Lucy's very proud Mum Paula was already getting in to her lovely outfit and her specially made mother-of-the-bride hat, while laughter and happiness filled the room.
I dashed downstairs to greet Mike and his family as they arrived and said a cheery 'Morning!' to Lucy's father Duncan on the way.
Mike too was calm, but I think that's probably what we would expect from a commercial airline pilot, but he seemed a little concerned that Lucy was so calm!
The chapel at Wynyard is quite beautiful another place of calm, but I had to return to the room and Lucy as she was now getting 'tied' into her beautiful Sophia Tolli wedding gown from Wild Brides at Heart of Durham Bridalwear.
The bridesmaid dresses were from Dessy - also from the same shop.
The three girls looked stunning when they were ready - as did Mum Paula, pretty as a picture, or two!
We headed down the spiral staircase, Duncan her father looking very proud indeed and made our way to the chapel where their own vicar, Rev. Michael Boag from Coquetdale was waiting to marry them.
It was smiles all round as Mike and Lucy saw each other and there was a LOT of love in the room for them as they were announced as man and wife
Outside, the obligatory confetti shot for family and friends and our magnificent wedding videography team of Andrew and Gail at A&G Productions before we headed to the statue gallery and outside for champagne and canapes for an hour or more to relax and really get into the wedding!
Lots of nice candid photographs keeping the atmosphere chilled out with the help of The Pocket Orchestra and with some nice happy family photographs took up through to the wedding breakfast (thanks you folks - appreciated!) and the speeches.
Mike's brother Simon did the honours, but as he said, when someone is as nice as Mike, whose idea of a stag weekend was to go abroad with himself and their Dad - there wasn't too much he could say!
The cake from my friends at Burnett4Cakes looked good enough to eat, strangely but it had to wait until the evening celebrations with amazing close-up magician Paul Lytton and The Paul James Band before the happy couple cut the cake and moved on to their first dance as man and wife.
I went around the conservatory thanking both sets of parents for their hospitality before a hearty handshake with Mike and a big cuddle for Lucy who had been such a delight on her wedding day - I got my photograph taken with her too!
